Give an afternoon. Or give it a year.
Volunteers are how prevention work actually reaches people in Starke County — at the fair booth, the school assembly, the supply drive, the committee table. Tell us how much time you have and we will find the right fit.

Prefer to call?
How much time do I have to give?
As little as one event. There’s no minimum and no penalty for turning down a request. Many volunteers help at one or two events a year, and that’s genuinely useful.
Do I need to be a coalition member?
No. Volunteering and membership are separate. Membership is free if you want a seat at the table, but plenty of volunteers never join
Can students volunteer for school hours?
Yes. Volunteers 14 and older are welcome, with a parent, guardian, or advisor for anyone under 18. We document service hours for school requirements, honor societies, and scholarships on request.
Is there a background check?
For roles working directly with youth, yes, and we arrange it. Most event and behind-the-scenes roles don’t require one.
I'm in recovery. Can I volunteer?
Absolutely, and lived experience is one of the most valuable things anyone brings to this work. You decide what you share and how publicly you’re involved — several roles are entirely behind the scenes.
What if I can't leave the house?
Several roles are fully remote: campaign writing and design, social media, editing PSAs and podcasts, data entry, and grant research. Filter for “From home” on the board above.
