Local dollars, put to work locally.
Each year the coalition directs grant funding to Starke County organizations doing prevention, recovery, and wellness work. It’s how state prevention dollars turn into programs you can actually see in the community.

Who can apply for a community grant?
Grants are for organizations and agencies serving Starke County whose work aligns with the coalition’s prevention, recovery, and wellness priorities. Applicants are generally coalition members — and membership is free. Individuals aren’t eligible, though students should see Scholarships & Youth Grants.
How much funding is available?
About $38,000 is available to member agencies in 2026, awarded across multiple projects. Individual award sizes depend on the applications received and how they map to plan priorities.
When does the application cycle open?
Applications are announced annually with their own timeline and deadline. Watch this page, the monthly meetings, and the coalition’s Facebook page, or contact us to be notified when the next cycle opens.
What can the money be used for?
Funding supports projects that advance the Community Action Plan — youth prevention, recovery and mental wellness, education and awareness, and collaboration. The Eligibility & Guidelines page lists what is and isn’t fundable in detail.
What are the reporting requirements?
Grantees are expected to track how funds are used and report on outcomes, so the coalition can show its funders — and the community — that local dollars made a difference. Specifics are covered in the guidelines.
